Planning - Organisation of Group

As we have decided to film a psychological thriller, the work needed to create a film of high quality and effectiveness is immense. To keep on top of this, our group will utilize the lesson time we are given to edit the video, and also document our work through blog posts, and use our free time to actually film the project.

By creating a WhatsApp group chat, we are able to stay in touch and inform each other if we have new ideas, or we are unable to film, or if we must change scenes etc. It also means that if we are filming two scenes at once, we can keep in touch and discuss what we have filmed, and what doesn't need filming. The WhatsApp group also allows for us to dictate who documents what blog post, and is there if anyone needs help.

Also, we have used Celtex to create a calendar with fixed dates on when we plan to film. However, because this is a loose guide, we may not be able to fully follow this calendar, and so despite its creation we may not refer to it as much as some other groups utilize it.

Planning - Podcast on Prefiliming

The video below is a podcast we made together, we expressed our thoughts and feelings towards how we felt about the course so far. It has mixed emotions. But we mostly felt as if the work is a lot and quit difficult but if we work together as a group we mentioned to complete each task that our teacher gave us.

Planning - Filming Locations

This is the first scene, the location is the bus. As you can see, this picture shows an extreme long shot of the area and the bus where the character of Daniel will be on.

On the bus, Daniel will recall how he was bullied by people in school, and intends to go and kill them. He exits the bus and walks down a suburban road, where he meets and talks to two classmates from school.

Daniel will knock on the door of this house, where his first victim Sasha lives.

This was the first idea we had but after a while the planning and plot of the filming location changed. The house was never shown in the film this was to make the hideout of Sasha's dead body seem mysterious, Daniel kidnaps Sasha as she is waiting for a cab on the side of the room and then takes her to an unknown location. We also decided to change the first opening scene instead of the first image location we had the first opening scene on a road near where Sasha gets kidnapped.

Planning - Master Catalogue

The Master Catalogue is used to show certain aspects of a script. In Hollywood and films in general, it is used to show when particular characters, props and scenes will be used in the film. Our Master Catalogue is displayed below:
As you can see, due to it only being the first opening scene, there are ten items in the Master Catalogue, ranging from various wardrobe clothing like the hoodie our main character Daniel will be wearing in this scene and the set of the bus that will take place within the opening scene. Within the Master Catalouge itself, is the script, sketch and screenplay.

Planning - Vine

A Vine is a short, six second clip that displays a story. Sometimes, the Vine itself can display this story, and sometimes the caption of said Vine gives context to the Vine. That is the case in our Vine, where the caption says "When your ex wants to play hide and seek". This is in reference to the fact that you would not want to see your ex, and if he or she wants to play hide and seek, you would attempt to hide in the best place.

Planning - Script

A script is used to show directors and actors what to do and what is meant to happen during the course of production. Using Celtex, we were able to create an industry standard script. We will use this script to tell us what to do, and also the various props we need for the opening scene.

As you can see, the character name and their various lines are shown, as well as stage directions and setting the scene with the location and time of day.
